Ocean Free was purchased in Guernsey and sailed back to the UK for a refit.  This was managed by Ego Dridge – and the boat was kept in a mud berth near his yard at Hayling Yacht Services.   The work was extensive and took about 2 years.  The complete contents of the engine room were replaced – Perkins 215hp diesel engine, generator, steering, fuel lines, batteries, wiring, prop shaft, aircon etc.  The rear “owners cabin” was reworked completely.  The saloon was modernised with a new settee to starboard and a forward facing chart table.   The galley had a new electric cooker and replacement refrigeration systems.  On deck the boat had a remodelled cockpit and new Lewmar electric winches.  Down below there was a new bow thruster to make the yacht easy to handle.  The list goes on and on….
